Great News!

We had some great news this month – Friends of Bannerman have been awarded £10,000 from The National Lottery Community fund!

This money will support a series of arts activities, creative workshops and events for local children and families. We hope that this is just the start, our long-term plan is to work with arts organisation Take A Part to build an embedded creative programme at the school. You can have a look at what they do, including their work with a school in Plymouth, here

We would like to invite parents and teachers to get involved by joining a steering group for the programme. The group will meet around four times a year to plan activities and think about how to develop this work in the future. It will be a chance to work with Take A Part and be involved in shaping creative education at Bannerman, creating exciting and memorable learning opportunities through the arts, adding value across the curriculum, and making links with the arts, cultural, heritage and creative sectors. No prior experience is necessary, we’re just interested in hearing your thoughts about what you would like to see happen.

If you are interested, fancy joining a meeting, or would just like to know more, please get in touch with Lucy
